It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jim Sankey, President and CEO of InVue, on Sunday, August 4th. Jim was not just a leader; his dedication and hard work transformed InVue into the global company it is today. Building on the foundation his father, Richard Sankey, established when he founded the company in 1972, Jim elevated the business to new heights, shaping InVue into a company renowned for innovation and excellence.
Jim’s vision and passion for InVue were boundless. He believed deeply in our mission and dedicated his life to realizing it. His leadership was more than just steering the company; it was about inspiring every one of us to strive for excellence and integrity. Jim’s influence on InVue, our industry, and all of us personally is immeasurable. His recognition as Charlotte’s Most Admired CEO is a testament to his exceptional leadership and character.
“As we mourn his loss, we reflect on the countless ways Jim has touched our lives. From his innovative ideas to his unwavering commitment to our values, Jim’s influence is everywhere. He built a culture of collaboration, respect, and relentless pursuit of excellence that will forever be part of InVue’s DNA,” said Andy Moock, InVue Board Member and former Executive Vice President.
Jim’s impact extended beyond business, marked by his and his family’s incredible generosity. Through mission trips and donations, they supported numerous global children’s orphanages and countless other foundations, embodying a true spirit of philanthropy. Jim was known for his deep love for his family, loyal friendships, great sense of humor, competitive spirit, dedication to self-improvement, and compassion for those less fortunate.
In this time of profound loss, it is essential to ensure the continuity and stability of InVue, the company Jim dedicated his life to building. To this end, the InVue Board of Directors has unanimously appointed David Glenn, Chief Operating Officer, as the interim CEO. David, who has been integral to InVue’s leadership team for the past three years, has partnered with Jim to develop and drive InVue’s global strategy and vision. Before joining InVue, David was the CEO of a global manufacturing organization. Under David’s guidance, we will continue to honor Jim’s legacy and uphold the standards he set.
We are grateful for your support during this difficult time. Jim’s legacy will continue to inspire us, and we are dedicated to honoring his memory by continuing the work for which he was so passionate.
