Does this lock require batteries?

No, the key transfers power to the lock. No batteries are required.

Can the lock be installed on a front left panel or a front right panel?

Yes, the lock is interchangeable. Simply rotate the lock by 180 degrees for the correct orientation during installation.

What is the length of the plunger?

The total length is 23mm. With an extension installed, the plunger can support a max length of 24.5mm from the front of the front panel to the front of the back panel.
