How InVue’s CT101 Revolutionized Sixt Netherlands’ Car Rental Process
Problem:
Sixt Netherlands, a leading car rental service provider, faced a recurring issue with their digital rental process. The reliance on tablets for processing rentals was hindered by frequent problems:
- Battery Issues: Tablets often ran out of battery at crucial moments, disrupting the digital rental process.
- Physical Damage: Regular handling led to many instances of broken tablets, resulting in significant repair and replacement costs.
- Operational Inefficiencies: These issues forced staff to revert to traditional paperwork, causing delays and inconvenience for both staff and customers.
During a business trip, Martin Kannekens, InVue’s Regional Director of Benelux and Nordics, experienced these challenges firsthand when the tablet used for his rental process nearly ran out of battery, necessitating a switch to traditional paperwork. Frustrated by this inefficiency, Martin challenged all his partners to seek better solutions at rental car companies in airports.

In response to Martin’s challenge, Resatec, an InVue partner, reached out to Sixt Netherlands with a potential solution. Recognizing the opportunity, Sixt Netherlands was quick to respond, eager to address the persistent issues with their digital devices.
InVue’s CT101 tablet security solution was proposed and subsequently installed at Sixt Netherlands’ headquarters for a test run.
The CT101 offered:
- Secure Charging: Ensuring tablets are always charged and ready for use, eliminating the risk of battery-related disruptions.
- Robust Protection: Protecting tablets from physical damage, significantly reducing repair and replacement costs.
- Enhanced Efficiency: Allowing the rental process to remain fully digital, thereby improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Results:
The trial installation of the CT101 at Sixt Netherlands’ headquarters proved to be highly successful. The benefits observed included:
- Zero Downtime: With tablets always charged, there was no need to revert to traditional paperwork, ensuring a seamless digital rental process.
- Cost Savings: Significant reduction in expenses related to tablet repairs and replacements due to the robust protection provided by the CT101.
- Positive Feedback: Both staff and customers reported higher satisfaction levels due to the increased reliability and efficiency of the rental process.
Impressed by the results, Sixt Netherlands decided to purchase eleven CT101 units for several locations in Belgium and The Netherlands. Following this positive test, plans are underway to roll out the solution to other locations, further enhancing their operational efficiency and customer service across all their rental sites.
