The transition from a product design company to a retail security powerhouse marked a significant turning point for Alpha in 1984. We recognized the growing demand for security solutions in record chains and video rental stores, leading to the introduction of security packages for audio cassettes and video cases.
As the 1990s brought about more affordable home TVs and VHS tapes, we adapted with Alpha consumer products, offering a range of home storage solutions and office accessories. However, it was our innovation in retail security, such as the introduction of security keepers for cassettes and CDs in 1994, that truly set us apart.
With the advent of the digital age, we pivoted once again, knowing the population would quickly adopt technology in all aspects of their lives. We introduced Secure Hooks and the revolutionary OneKEY . This single-key management system for retail security streamlined operations and enhanced the customer shopping experience across stores, laying the foundation for our transition to InVue in 2007. By selling the S3 product line to Checkpoint Systems, we embraced a new era of innovation, focused on providing superior value and anticipating the growth of smaller, more compact handheld electronics.
Over the years, we’ve continued to push boundaries and redefine retail security. From protecting tablets on display to launching electronic lock and key systems for merchandise, we’ve remained at the forefront of the industry. As OneKEY grew from just a single-key solution to an entire OneKEY™ ecosystem of secure retail products in 2014, it marked a significant milestone for us, offering retailers a comprehensive security platform designed to combat theft and drive sales.
Our commitment to excellence extends beyond product innovation. The opening of our Innovation Center in Charlotte, NC underscored our dedication to quality control and customer satisfaction. As technology continued to evolve, so did we. The launch of the NE360 mobile payment system in 2020 exemplified our agility and forward-thinking approach, empowering retailers to embrace the future of retail with confidence.
